Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle is a free-to-play mobile game based on the Dragon Ball franchise. It was released in Japan for Android on January 30, 2015 and for iOS on February 19, 2015. Dokkan Battle was eventually released worldwide for iOS and Android on July 16, 2015. The game includes many favorite Dragon Ball series characters, ranging from Goku to Piccolo to even Emperor Pilaf. The game was given very strong characters, dependent on what skills they had. The game got even better in July 2016 in the Japanese version of the game (and November 2016 in the global version of the game) when the concept of "god leads" was introduced. This ability gave characters to give characters of their typing ki bonuses and health, attack, and defense boosts. Characters that have this are characters such as Super Vegito, Super Saiyan Broly, Omega Shenron, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, Buu (Gohan absorbed) and then on February 2017 the new god leads were announced instead of their respective typing hp/atk/def % up it was now super types( hero), extreme types( villains) and their typing 120% hp/atk/def up , some of the characters are Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks(phy), Final Form cooler, Buu( kid), Super 17, Super Janemba, Super Saiyan 3 Goku(angel), Super Saiyan 3 Broly, Super gogeta(int). These were released on Global version in July 2017.

Gacha scandal
On November 14, 2017, a new character Kefla (???) was advertised to be added into the gacha (loot box) pool, but only a few players were able to draw her successfully. The majority failed to spot her presence in the list of possible drops. This led to suspicion that the developer intentionally manipulated her drop rate so most players would pour a lot of money to attempt drawing her in vain while sustaining the illusion that she was still in the gacha pool. Soon after the rumor went public, the developer halted the gacha function and denied user access to the list of gacha drops temporarily, explained the issue was an unintentional mistake.
