Begonia "Wings Angel" is a Begonia hybrid produced from a cross between Begonia aconitifolia and B. coccinea . This hybridization was made by California crop farmer Eva Kenworthy Gray in 1926.

The Angel Wing Begonia is within the Cane Begonias Group, along with the type of Dragon Wing which generally has no variation on its leaves. Both the Angel and the Dragon are named for their leaf shape. Angel Wings generally contain freckles or opaque patterns. The lower part is often dark red. They bloom and produce a bloom that ranges in color from red and pink to white.

Often, these plants are used as home crops throughout the year. They are easy to grow for gardeners who understand their needs. Since the begonia comes from the tropics, the ideal growth conditions include high humidity, good air circulation around the plant, plenty of water, and plenty of light. The more light, the lighter the color of the leaves.

Angel Wing Begonias will grow well under the shade of cloth, grille, or in the morning/afternoon sun. They will burn if planted in the middle of the day straight sun. The flowers can be eaten, with a sweet sour taste.

To spread it, cut a 2 to 6 inch (10 to 15 cm) leaf from the tip using a sharp knife. Peel the lower leaves, dip the rooting powder, and put 2 inches (5.1 cm) into the ground pot. Moisturized with a watering can. After a few days, gently pull the plant. If it persists, it has grown a new root. Move to a larger regular pot.
