Primary type

Black dragon

  • Weapon: Acid Line

  • Note:
The black dragon is the most violent and cruel of all chromatic dragons, regardless of their love of bargaining. Black dragons are distinguished by their horns, which protrude from the sides of their heads and wrap, projecting forward. A large ornament adorns the top of the neck. They smell like rotten vegetation and dirty water, or like strong acids they can breathe.
The black dragon is a malignant hunter who usually strikes from the water. They will often prey on fish, crabs, birds, turtles, crocodiles, lizardsfolk, chuuls, hydras, and green dragons smaller and younger than them. Their enemies include green dragons and swampland owners.
The black dragon is not recorded as a good parent, relying more on disguise and hiding to protect their eggs than keeping them. Black dragon eggs must be submerged in strong acids when incubated. Their family (infant) is very cruel with an insatiable appetite for almost all organic things. As the black dragon matures, its scales gradually become lighter. The oldest black dragon looks almost purple; then the name of Dragon Knight Ungu Cormyr comes from the legend of the great black dragon Thauglor, who once dominated the territory covered by this kingdom.
A black dragon usually occupies a large cave or basement next to a swampy or murky pool. Their hallway always has two entrances: one underwater through adjacent swamps/pools, and one above the ground, disguised in the middle of the bush.
In battle, the black dragon prefers to ambush for live combat. They are cruel and cruel enemies, and their acid bile can easily work under the heaviest armor. Their deeply forested habitats prevent them from flying very high in combat.

Critical reception

The young white dragon was ranked eighth among the top ten low-level monsters by author Dungeons & amp; Dragons For Dummies . The authors chose the young white dragon over the wyrmling, feeling that "it is more than satisfactory for the character to fight against a dragon that is at least as big as a person, if not greater." Young white dragons offer the best chance for this kind of fight.
