Dragon Age: Inquisition is a role-playing video game developed by BioWare Edmonton and published by Electronic Arts. The third major game in the Dragon Age franchise Dragon Age: The Inquisition is the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II > This game was released worldwide in November 2014 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
The story of Dragon Age: The Inquisition follows the character of a player known as the Inquisitor on his way to resolve civil unrest on the continent of Thedas and seal mysterious tears in the sky called "Abuse", which is releasing the dangerous demon into the world. Inquisitors are seen by some as 'chosen', because they have a 'Sign' in the hands of those who can close the Breach. Inquisitors devised a titular Inquisition in an attempt to stop Corypheus, an ancient darkspawn, who opened a violation in an attempt to conquer Thedas.
The gameplay of the Dragon Age: Inquisition is similar to its predecessor and consists mostly of elements found in typical role-playing games; players control their customized Inquisitor, and the friends they meet. They can defeat enemies with swords and magic, complete side quests, interact with unplayable characters, and progress through the main story. Players mainly control their protagonists in third-person views, although traditional game-playing games top down camera angles are also available.
After the release of Dragon Age II , the series Dragon Age was viewed by some as a series with "identity crisis". As a result, Bioware is trying to create a third game of Dragon Age that combines elements of the first two. After starting development in 2011, the game was officially announced at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The game's soundtrack was mainly composed by Trevor Morris, who replaced Inon Zur, composer of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II soundtracks. Some downloadable content expansion packages are also released.
The Dragon Age: The Inquisition received critical acclaim after its release, with critics praising its story, sound acting, soundtrack, detailed environment, and fascinating battles. The game does receive some criticism due to technical problems. It was awarded more than 150 year-end awards and was nominated for more, including Game of the Year and Best Role-playing award from several game publications.

Gameplay
The Dragon Age: The Inquisition is a role-playing game similar to its predecessors. At the beginning of the game, players choose a race for their player character: humans, dwarves, elves, are races that can be played, with Qunari being played for the first time. Players adjust the physical appearance of Inquisitor, and gender, among other things. Players choose from three classes, warriors, mage, and mischievous, and can specialize in their characters, which gives them special abilities. The character then evolved into Thedas Inquisitor, which was considered "sacred" by the people there. As an Inquisitor, players must make choices and decisions that affect and change the state of the game world. In addition, they can "assess" certain people about their behavior and decide their fate. Thedas is a world of games, including Ferelden, where Dragon Age: Origins is set, as well as three new unexplored territories, including Orlais, Nevarra, and Free Marches. This game is not an open world video game, because the world is broken down into sections, which players can explore freely. However, BioWare claims that one of the levels featured in the Inquisition is greater than the overall game of Dragon Age II . In addition, each region has different environments such as deserts, swamps, and mountains. To allow players to navigate the gaming world faster, the mounts, which are creatures that can be driven by players, are introduced.
The romance aspect of the game has been overhauled. Contrary to previous prizes and dialog-based systems, romance arcs occur in reaction to story events and specific variables for each character and includes a sex scene. In addition, not all rom romance requires sex. Josephine, for example, has no explicit sex scenes with inquisitors during the main plot. Among the nine companions, who help players in battle, and three advisors, eight of them can be romance. Some of these party members will decide whether to fall in love with the Inquisitor based on their gender and race.
Customization is significantly overhauled, especially by allowing equipment and other items to modify their appearance based on who is equipped. Depending on which party member receives it, a piece of armor will automatically adjust its shape and aesthetics to fit that character while retaining its identity. Players can create and customize armor or weapons using the material they have collected; a rarer material gives a certain weapon or piece of armor a better attribute. Players can customize their storage, such as rebuilding the park as a chantry church or herb garden. This increase has little effect on the espionage Inquisition, trade or military capability.
Players do not have the ability to import save their files from the first two games to Dragon Age: Inquisition "to sustain the world's consistency". In contrast, Bioware released the creators of a cloud-based online interactive story called Dragon Age Keep , which is narrated by Varric. Players can detail the main plot of two previous Dragon Age games to provide this level of adjustment without the need to play back the original game.
Players get influence in different parts of the world by catching hold or fortress. This is achieved by defeating the inhabitants of fortresses or fortresses or setting up camps, â ⬠<â ⬠The battle focuses on the players' ability to prepare, position, and form cohesive teams with their party members. Inquisition has two forms of combat system. The first reminds of what is found in most action-playing games, including Dragon Age II . During the battle, players can switch to control other party members, while artificial intelligence will take control of the Inquisitors and other members in the party. The system is action-oriented and follows players in a typical over-the-shoulder third-person style. The second is closer to the classic role-playing game, including Dragon Age: Origins . This combat system allows players to pause the game, assign locations and commands to party members and then continue the game to see it played. During the use of this more strategic second battle system, the camera will be closer to the top-down view, than the usual third-person style out of the action-based battle system. This combat system is named Tactical View and allows to install traps while the game is paused. Investigators also have the ability to close and manipulate cracks, which can make all the enemies around him startled. As Inquisitors, players influence how to deploy agents and Inquisition forces through their key advisers, which affect the rewards and time requirements of the effort. The various regions that make up the game world do not have the same scale. They have a fixed level, which means players can be too weak or strong for enemies found in the region. Dragon Age: Inquisition also introduces multiplayer, which is described as a "dungeon crawl experience" by BioWare. The game has a co-operative multiplayer mode that the player assigns to play as an Inquisition Agent. Players must play through the level, and to fight against the increasingly difficult AI. Mode can be played with three other players, or solo solved. At launch, this game has three multiplayer campaigns and nine playable characters. This mode is completely separate from the main campaign. As a result, the progress made by players in multiplayer mode will not lead to a campaign. Players can upgrade and create items, and unlock new characters in multiplayer mode. Since it takes time to unlock new characters, micro transactions will be displayed. Players can buy an in-game currency called Platinum to speed up the process of unlocking a new character. Maps Dragon Age: Inquisition
Synopsis
Settings
Dragon Age: Inquisition is set on the continent of Thedas, a fantasy world where two previous games are set. The game covers more geographical areas than its predecessor, with one map depicted as four to five times the size of Ferelden, setting the first game in the series. The reshuffle setting allows players to commute between Ferelden and Orlais. Following the events described in the additional novel of Dragon Age: Asunder and The Masked Empire, the civil war between loyalists from the ruling Queen and a powerful noble faction led by his cousin, Grand Duke Gaspard, appeared in Orlais. At the same time, the Magi Circle had become mischievous, partly because of the Second Age dragon, and the Templars separated from Chantry to wage their own civil war on magicians.
The area within the Inquisition is much greater than both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, and is said to cover two countries and land. between. These countries are: Ferelden (setting Dragon Age: Origins ) and Orlais, with a land known as the Dales located within it.
Character
Returning characters from previous games include Cullen, Leliana, Cassandra Pentaghast and Varric Tethras, the latter two serving as friend players, former two serving as Inquisition and spymaster military commander, respectively. New friends introduced include Solas, an apostate renegade who is experienced in Fade and spirits; Blackwall, an Orbitian Gray Warden recruiter; Sera, elf thieves and underground members of the so-called Friends of Red Jenny; Iron Bull, a Qunari soldier presiding over a mercenary company called the Bullfill, and Ben-Hassrath's spy agency; Vivienne, a loyal Circle Mage from Orlais; Dorian, mage of Tevinter Imperium; and Cole, a compassionate spirit who has taken the form of a dead human witch. Josephine Montilyet, a noble lady and diplomat Antivan, served as an Inquisition ambassador.
Plot
At 9:41 am, the mage-templar war was suspended during the Conclave, a peace conference administered by Divine Justinia. During the negotiations, the explosions destroy Conclave, kill the Divine and many senior Chantry scholars, along with many mages and templars, and create Breach, a huge hole in Veil, the magical boundary between the physical world and Fade, the spirit world. The only survivors of the explosion were the player characters, who emerged from the crack with a mark in their hand that was able to close the splits that sprung up in Breach's wake, but there was no memory of what was happening.
After helping Cassandra close down some splits, players began to be called "Herald of Andraste". With the leaderless Chantry, Cassandra and Leliana reinstate their predecessors, the Inquisition, to carry out one of the Divine's last orders. They decide to form an authority, close off the Breach, and defeat the creator. After getting help from a wizard or templar, Herald successfully closed Breach. During the celebration of victory, Haven was attacked by a corrupt version of any fraction that was not in favor of the player. The attackers are led by Corypheus, an ancient Tevinter magister transformed into a darkspawn responsible for opening Breach. Assisted by dragons that looked like Archdemon, Corypheus overcame the Haven defense and forced the Inquisition to escape.
Facing the Herald, Corypheus refers to the sign as "The Anchor", a means that he will physically enter Fade and claim the throne of the Ruler in Black City, reaching apotheosis for himself. He tries to erase the Anchor with a magical elf ball, only to find that the Anchor is permanently attached; The Herald fled Corypheus by making an avalanche that buried Haven and cut Corypheus armies. The Herald reunited with other attack victims, and Solas led the Inquisition to the abandoned and forgotten fortress of the Skyhold, high in the mountains, which became their new base. The player's character becomes the Inquisitor, the Inquisition leader.
With the help of Hawke, who escaped from Kirkwall after the Dragon Age II , the Inquisitor investigated Gray Wardens's disappearance, discovering that they were manipulated by Corypheus into a demon army. Hawke and Inquisitor assisted by Gray Warden in hiding; either Alistair, Loghain, or Stroud (depending on the choices made in Dragon Age: Origins ). The Inquisitor opens the Fade and regains the memory of Conclave, which reveals that the Inquisitor earned Anchor while in touch with the Corypheus orbital, after discovering the ritual performed by the enchanted Gray Wardens to unlock the power of the ball. Either Gray Warden or Hawke gives their lives to help others escape from Fade, and the Searcher must decide whether to alienate or recruit the remaining Wardens.
Investigators also attended a party at the Winter Palace and completed an ongoing civil war in Orlais. Morrigan, an advisor to the Empress, joined the Inquisition as Imperial liaison. Following his advice, Investigators traveled to the Temple of Myth to stop Corypheus from obtaining Eluvian, a powerful artifact that would allow him to physically enter the Fade. Investigators watched Corypheus apparently destroyed by the temple's defenses, only for him to be reborn in the body of the nearest Watchtower. Sheltered inside the temple, either the Inquisitor or Morrigan gained the power of Well of Sorrows, the magical 'key' for the Eluvian population, giving wisdom to the recipients of Mythal's previous servants but also tying them to his will. Myth is revealed to be Flemeth, the Witch of the Wild. If Morrigan contains a child in the Origin with the soul of the Lama, the soul is taken by Flemeth.
In either case, the sound of the well reveals that the Corypheus dragon is the key to stop it; it is a facsimile of Archdemon, who, if killed, will interfere with Corypheus's ability to leap into another body and make him vulnerable. The investigator then confronts Corypheus as he reopens the Breach and defeats him and his dragon, dismantles the Offense permanently and throws the darkspawn masters into the Fade, destroying his physical body in the process. After finding the broken Corypheus ball, Solas is anxiously leaving the Inquisition. The epilogue, narrated by Morrigan, details the results of the Inquisitor decisions for the Mage-Templar war, Gray Wardens, and Orlais leadership. Depending on the choice of players, either Cassandra, Leliana, or Vivienne will be appointed as the new Divine, taking the title of Divine Victoria.
In the post-epilogue, Flemeth meets Solas, who is revealed to be Fen'Harel, the god of elf betrayal. Their conversation revealed that Solas had given the ball to Corypheus, because he was too weak to unlock the true power of the ball after his sleep. Though sorry for his actions and admitting that he deserves to be punished, Solas considers himself too important to be killed, claiming that the elves need him. When Flemeth embraced Solas, his eyes began to glow and he seemed petrified.
Trespasser
Two years after Corypheus's defeat, the Inquisition went to the Winter Palace to engage in talks about his future; Ferelden hoped the organization would disband, while Orlais wanted to include it in his armed forces. During the negotiations, the dead Qunari emerges, leading the Inquisitor to find the Qunari plot to attack Thedas, which is called the "Dragon's Breath". Qunari agents in the Inquisition will smuggle barrels of gaatlock to power and government throughout the southern Thedas, allowing Qunari to wipe out his leadership and facilitate the invasion. They also learned that the agent who was supposed to work for Fen'Harel had disrupted Qunari's plans. Simultaneously, the Inquisitor loses control of the Anchor, threatening their lives.
While investigating the Qunari plot, Investigators learned that the elf gods, Evanuris, were actually very powerful magicians of antiquity who became corrupt and arrogant in their power, and that Fen'Harel had led an insurgency against them. They also learned that the Veil was created by Fen'Harel, and that his actions caused the civilizations of the ancient elves to collapse because of their dependence on magic. Investigators can also learn that Solas is a Fen'Harel, depending on how well they searched.
Investigators finally meet Viddasala, Qunari in charge of Dragon Breath who claims that Qunari incites him to prevent incidents such as the appearance of Violations - which they blame on the southern failure to control the magicians - from being repeated. After the Inquisitors foiled the plot, they assured Viddasala that they were not Fen Harel's agents, and Viddasala in turn revealed that Solas was Fen'Harel's agent who had interfered with the dragon's breathing path, unaware that they were one and the same. He pursued Solas into the Eluvian network, followed by the Inquisitor, though the Anchor was getting out of hand. In the end, Viddasala is overshadowed by Solas.
Solas temporarily calms the Anchor to explain himself to the Inquisitor, claiming to be Fen'Harel and creating the Veil to seal Evanuris after they kill Mythal, the only one who keeps their ambitions in check. He also reveals his intention to restore the world of the ancient fairies, even if he must destroy the world today. When asked about his role in the core events of the story, Solas explains that he has arranged for Corypheus to get his magical ball, hoping he will open it and kill himself in the next explosion, after Solas will take the ball, use the Anchor to tear down the Veil, and restore the elf world ancient. After Corypheus survived the explosion, Solas joined the Inquisition, seeing them as their best hope of defeating him. If asked why he arranged for the Dragon's Breath to be found, he would express his desire to avoid unnecessary bloodbath or, if he befriended the Searcher, admit he saw the value in this world. Finally, Solas amputates the Inquisitor's arm to prevent the Anchor from killing them and leaving, with the Inquisitor deciding to stop him in any way necessary or to convince him to cancel his plans.
Upon returning to the Winter Palace, the Shackle must dissolve the Inquisition or change it to serve the Divine Victoria, risking either a weaker attempt on Solas or corruption in the ranks. An epilogue reveals that Qunari continued their war with Tevinter following their failing path, and that elves at Thedas have disappeared to join Solas, in addition to detailing the fate of the Inquisitor allies. Regardless, the Inquisitor decided to follow up with their promise to Solas, and planned to collect allies in Tevinter, noting that given the intimacy of Solas with the workings of the Inquisition, they needed to recruit people whom he had never met before.
Development
The BioWare developers plan to combine elements of both previous games in the series, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II into the creation of the Dragon Age: Inquisition . The game has a larger environment with more opportunities for exploration. Dragon Age: Inquisition was first announced informally on Twitter, on May 19, 2011, by BioWare creative leader Alistair McNally.
On March 19, 2012, almost two weeks after BioWare released Mass Effect 3, creative director Mike Laidlaw tweeted that BioWare finished working on content for Dragon Age II. Although the Dragon Age: Inquisition has not been officially announced, Darrah asks fans to provide feedback on what they want to see in future Dragon Age installments.
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter speculated that the Dragon Age: Inquisition will be released sometime in 2014. The title is believed to be scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2013, but Pachter suggests it has been delayed so that BioWare Publishers and Electronic video games Arts can fix the problem and create new content for Star Wars: The Old Republic and Mass Effect 3 . However, many BioWare developers, such as Mary Kirby, claim this is not accurate, stating that " Dragon Age III Development ' will not be delayed by other BioWare games."
In September 2012, Mark Darrah, Dragon Age 'executive producer , was revealed in an open letter that Dragon Age III , titled Dragon Age III : Inquisition , is officially under development and has been about eighteen months before the announcement.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is then added to EA's Access vault for Xbox One on August 4, 2015. In July 2015, Electronic Arts released a test for the game, allowing players to play free single-player games for six hours and get "unlimited access" to the multiplayer part of the game via Origin.

It was announced during PAX Prime on August 29, 2015, and was released on September 8, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to BioWare, the team takes inspiration from Indiana Jones and Captain America to create a game story.
Music
Trevor Morris replaces Inon Zur, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II composers to compose the soundtrack for Dragon Age: Inquisition. The change was due to the desire to bring the player a "new experience" but kept the familiar theme for those who enjoy music in previous versions. The development of music starts earlier than any other aspect of the game. The album was digitally released on November 17, 2014, the day before the official release of the game.
In addition to the original soundtrack, the game also features 10 tavern songs, composed by Raney Shockne and performed by Elizaveta and Nick Stoubis. One of the soundtracks, "I Am The One" was composed by Inon Zur. The tavern songs, along with the song sheets are made free for download from January 26, 2015 to February 9, 2015 by BioWare due to the enormous demand of fans. The songs will also be sold through various digital platforms in the future.
Reception
Pre-release
Pre-release comments from Dragon Age: Inquisition are positive. Kotaku writer Jason Schrier has a very good first impression, noting the real ambitions of the game and BioWare's ability to listen to fans. GamesRadar recorded their second best game in PAX 2013, commenting on its openness and contention. John Walker of Rock, Paper, Shotgun loves to hear top-view cameras back, though remain cautious; after playing the demo, he said he "left optimistic, but did not know". Game Informer ' s Kimberley Wallace listed it as one of the most anticipated RPGs to be released in 2014, saying " Dragon Age: Inquisition much to prove after BioWare received a lot of feedback from disappointed fans about Dragon Age II, but if our cover trip is any indication, BioWare is ready to face the challenge. "
Gamecritics writer Brad Gallaway gives a preview and is less impressed "for me personally, this is not the type of content I expect to see" and mentions graphic issues, lack of interest in characters and random search numbers provided within minutes.
Post-release
Dragon Age: Inquisition received reviews "Generally profitable", according to Metacritic reviewers.
Alexander Sliwinski from Joystiq scored perfectly on the match. He describes the game as "a vast epic fantasy, a vast adventure in many of Thedas' landscapes, immature matured in the political and brazen exploration of his battle, This is everything that is the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins should have been. "He also described the game as" BioWare developer redemption song ". Adam Beck of Hardcore Gamer also awarded the Perfect Value Inquisition, saying that while "artistic and visual accuracy helps with immersion, it is a very beautiful and very beautiful bachelor-sized storyline. "which makes the game special. Philip Kollar from Polygon gave this game 9.5/10. He complimented the well-written character, fascinating the cliffhangers plot, the closely linked story, as well as the combat system, as he described it as "an intelligent fusion of combat systems from Origins and Dragon Age 2 that makes people browse the jungle for a long time. "Joe Juba from Game Game Informers also provides 9.5/10 games He praised the detailed environment, character models and spell effects, sound acting and excellent soundtracks, responsive bouts and high replay values, but criticized the disappointing middle story arc, lack of storage and many sets of weapons, as well as some minor accidents and bugs audio. However, he still states that "With a mixture of open-world exploration, entertaining battles, and top characters, the team at BioWare has found an unfettered victory formula in Dragon Age: Origins or Dragon Age II . the Inquisition is not defined by the traditions it revives, but by new directions falsified for this magnificent universe of fantasy. "
Phil Savage of PC Gamer praises rich content, fulfills, dramatic and memorable plots, as well as tough decisions but changes the world made throughout the game. However, he criticized the slow animation for a mischievous career, as well as a tactical outlook, which can be confusing when faced with many enemies. He stated that a small but real deficiency makes the Inquisition imperfect. Kevin VanOrd from GameSpot gave the game 9/10. He praises beautiful and interesting characters and related characters, including narratives, diverse environments, and a fantastic balance between exploration, combat, story and customization. However, he criticized the combat system, which required relatively less strategy. Vince Ingenito of IGN gave the game 8.8/10. He praised the substantial replay value of multiplayer, as well as the incredibly large, dense and detailed world. However, he criticized the weak and unattractive story, as well as various technical problems encountered. He describes this game as "not only one of the most extensive RPGs I have ever played, but one of the few that manages to fill a beautiful and massive world with things meaningful to do and see." A plot that is vague and typical of power BioWare pulls down a bit, but both in battle and exit, the Inquisition marks a good return to the depth of the RPG that made the previous product Bioware Dragon Age: Origins and Star Wars : Knights of the Old Republic very magnet. "
Both Bajo and Hex from Good Games gave 10/10 games, the only value they gave in 2014. Both hosts praised writing, voice acting, graphics and gameplay games, with Hex saying that " The writing and voice acting are just amazing "and that" The swords and boards are attacking though Bajo! Very useful! This is a classic underground crawl bout, is not it? ". Bajo praised the game's challenge, stating that "where fighting really shines is when you're in trouble" as well as offering little criticism that "The craft system is a bit hard to get your head". They are also awarded "Game of the Year" in their annual Christmas specials.
After the game launch, BioWare announced that they are working on patches to address fanbase concerns about PC versions including driver support, graphics and interfaces.
Sales
Dragon Age: Inquisition debuted at No. 5 in the UK in its first week of release. According to the Chart-Track retail monitor, it has sold almost exactly the number of copies of the launch week as the 2011 Dragon Age II . However, this does not take into account the direct sales of digital downloads, which have been recorded as a "significant percentage of sales" by BioWare and thus the actual sales amount is higher. According to fiscal 2015 fiscal year 2015 Electronic Arts report, Dragon Age: Inquisition is the most successful launch in BioWare history based on sold units.
