Dragon Age is a dark-fantasy role-playing video game created by BioWare. The first game, Dragon Age: Origins, was released in 2009. Dragon Age II , the sequel to Origins , was released in March 2011. Dragon Age: Inquisition was released in November 2014. Series fantasy settings have been used by various other media, including book and table games, and three main games have been combined by various downloadable content add-ons (DLC). The fourth unnamed installment has been disclosed for production.

Dragon Age Legends

Dragon Age Legends is a role-playing strategy game developed by EA for the Facebook Platform. Dragon Age Legends gives players their experience of Free Marches, Dragon Age II setting. Dragon Age Gameplay will open the items in Dragon Age II . The game features character customizations and upgrade systems that are not similar to Dragon Age II .

Dragon Age Journeys

Dragon Age Journeys is planned to be a three chapter Flash spin-off game by EA 2D. The first chapter of the game, The Deep Roads was released for free. Players can unlock achievements in the game, which will unlock unique items in Dragon Age: Origins . The second and third chapters are only for purchase, but have been canceled.

Dragon Age Hero

In August 2013, EA announces upcoming games for mobile devices, Heroes of Dragon Age . This game is free to play, and battle-based, featuring a 3D digital figure figure from the Dragon Age universe. Instead of introducing new knowledge, the game will be based on "what if?" scenarios taken from existing in-game plotlines. This game is expected to be available for iOS and Android.

On October 8, 2013, EA launched the Soft Heroes of Dragon Age on Google Play in Canada, with iOS releases in December of the same year.

Books

  • Dragon Age: World of Thedas Volume I released April 2013. This comprehensive guide offers detailed insight into Dragon Age's natural laws, including Thedas geography, race, and magic.
  • The Art of Dragon Age Inquisition was released November 2014. It featured the concept art for the third game in the series.
  • Dragon Age: World of Thedas Volume II was released in May 2015. Extending Volume I, this edition includes insights on character characters across franchises. It also features The New Cumberland Chant of Light (a text edition of the fictitious 'The Chantry' world religious text), The Seer's Yarn: A Treasury of Tales for Children All Over, and a mini cookbook called The Whole Culinary Treasure from Thedas.
  • Novel

    There are currently five novels in the Dragon Age universe.

    • Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne was released 3rd March 2009.
    • Dragon Age: The Calling was released on October 13, 2009.
    • Dragon Age: Asunder , released December 20, 2011, by David Gaider via Tor Publisher.
    • Dragon Age: The Masked Empire was released on April 8, 2014. It was written by Patrick Weekes.
    • Dragon Age: The Last Flight was released on September 16, 2014 and was written by Liane Merciel.

    Role game table

    A table-table role play, titled Dragon Age , was released on January 25, 2010 by Green Ronin. Green Ronin has stated that the game uses an "all-new game system" using three six-sided dice. The initial release of this game is a set of boxes including Player's Guide, Game Master's Guide, Ferelden maps and three dice. Electronic versions (PDF) from this game are also available, offered free of charge to those who order pre-order box sets.

    Anime movie

    An anime film adaptation was announced on June 7, 2010. It was produced jointly by BioWare, EA and anime company Funimation Entertainment. It was released in Japanese theaters on February 11, 2012. The film is called Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker with Funimation Entertainment releasing a teaser trailer on their website. Cassandra's main character appears in Dragon Age II and will then appear in "Dragon Age: Inquisition".

    Comics

    Dragon Age: Origins , webcomic by Penny Arcade artist, made available in 2010, and she tells the story of a group of Templars sent on a search & amp; destroying the mission for Flemeth, the Witch of the Wild. The timeline is set before the Dragon Age: Origins game, as Morrigan has not been recruited by The Warden.

    Another webcomic, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening , was also released in 2010 by Penny Arcade. The story tells how Nathaniel Howe got into Vigils Keep before his capture in Awakening just before meeting The Warden.

    Dragon Age: The Revelation , written by David Gaider, published in 2010 on the BioWare website, and featuring art from Aimo. The story is based on a script from the Dragon Age: Origins video game that did not make the final release. It details the meeting between Morrigan and Alistair after Gray Wardens learns from Riordan that in order to kill an Archdemon, the warden who killed the animal must die. Morrigan looks for Alistair to ask his advice as far as can be done to help a friend in need. The story assumes a woman as Duncan's last warden, and ends up with Morrigan on the way to Alistair's bedroom to offer The Dark Ritual.

    Three graphic novels and a series of comic books have also been released: Dragon Age , a 133-page story written by Orson Scott Card with the help of Aaron Johnson and released by IDW Publishing in 2011, tells the story of a mage of being involved romance with templar. Originally released in 6 individual comics but collected and published in one graphic novel. The story is set before the video game event and takes place in and around the Magi Tower.

    The second series of graphic novels created after the Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II events were released early 2012. The novels are The Silent Grove >, The Speaking , and Until Us Sleep . The Silent Grove follows Alistair, Varric and Isabela as they uncover the truth behind Alistair's past. It was written by David Gaider. The second and third graphic novels in the series, The Speaks and Until We Sleep , were also released by Dark Horse Comics on the same plotline, and then re-released in the compilations' Library Edition '.

    The third series of graphic novels, titled Dragon Age: Magekiller , is set before and during Dragon Age: Inquisition event. Written by Greg Rucka, the story follows Marius, a mercenary hunting mercenary, and Tessa Forsythia, his assistant, as they progress through Thedas to search for their targets. The story is aimed at "expanding the world of Dragon Age ", and will involve an area not shown in the Dragon Age game . The first issue of the comic was released on December 16, 2015.

    A semi-sequel to the Magekiller from the same team, Dragon Age: Knight Errant, was launched in May 2017 and follows the Vaea thief elf.

    Action numbers

    A series of four action figures released by DC Direct. Series one includes Morrigan, Duncan, Loghain and Genlock action figures. Every highly detailed figure features an accurate accessory and can be found in game and hobby stores as well as online retailers.

    Web series

    It was announced on February 15, 2011, that actress Felicia Day, in partnership with BioWare, will release a six-part web series called Dragon Age: Redemption sometime in summer 2011. The series is written by Day, which also serves as a co-producer. Filming took place for a dozen days in January 2011 in the L.A. area, with associate producer Peter Winther ( Independence Day) as director and John Bartley ( Lost ) as a cinematographer. It's tempted as #mysteryproject on Twitter feeds Day for a few weeks before the announcement.

    The web series was aired on October 11, 2011, on the same day as the release of the Dragon Age II DLC Mark of the Assassin , which featured searches based on Day characters.
