Phoenix and Opel never won another DTM race until the end of 2005, when the manufacturer backed down.

For 2006, there is a need for more cars to be run by the two remaining manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. This led to Phoenix running the Audi A4 one year from the 2006 season and beyond. In 2011 Martin Tomczyk won the DTM driver's title for Phoenix in the last race from behind in Valencia, with 3 wins, 7 podiums total, and 1 pole position. In 2013, Mike Rockenfeller takes the title in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season 2013 with one race remaining with 2 wins and 3 second places, driving the Audi A5.

Phoenix Racing also started competing in the FIA GT Championship in 2006, with Jean-Denis Deletraz and Andrea Piccini finishing the season as runners-up at Aston Martin DBR9. For 2007 the team joined the Carsport team Holland Toine Hezemans to form Phoenix Carsport . Deletraz and Mike Hezemans finished in third place in the Corvette C6 racing standings. In 2008, Hezemans and Fabrizio Gollin finished as runners-up for the team. In 2009, Carsport re-run their team with Peka Racing, but Phoenix and Carsport will again partner with each other in 2010 for the first season of the FIA GT1 World Championship.

Phoenix Racing became the Audi Sport support team in 2009, competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series and 24 Hours NÃÆ'¼rburgring with the Audi R8 GT3 LMS.
