Ra is the second studio album and third release by Utopia on Bearsville Records in 1977. Comes with an elaborate $ 250,000 stage show with a 22-foot (6.7 m) pyramid and gold sphinx which takes 18 months of preparation, Ra is Rundgren's most ambitious business venture.
The tracks and performances are Singring and the Glass Guitar, which consists solos by each band members who fight the elements: water (drum), wind (bass), fire (keyboard), and earth ( guitar). At the top of the live performances, Rundgren played the last solo guitar while repeatedly climbing and flipping the pyramid.
The album was very successful, peaking on the Billboard Top 200 at # 79.

Daftar trek
A number of Pressing Tests and a very limited number of vinyl cassettes and 8 tracks (unknown cassette releases) were pressed using rejected parent tape covering an alternative mix of albums. The songs "Communion with the Sun" and "Sunburst Finish" are almost entirely different, Communion with the sun has a more aggressive drum track, alternative vocals and solo instruments. Sunburst Finish's main vocals are similar but different backing vocals and some backing vocals are missing. "Singring and the Glass Guitar" is a bit different because the intro to Willie Wilcox's drum solo is gone. All other songs on the album can not be distinguished from the last master.
With the exception of the European emphasis, the only way to know whether a particular copy of the LP or tape from a rejected master is to play it. At the European emphasis, A1 and B1 will be written into the dead wax of vinyl. It is not known exactly how much pressure is made.
