Football

Elang Allen's football program has been one of the top football programs in Texas over the last decade, with playoff spots every season since 2001, and a district title every season since 2006. By 2014, Allen became the fourth high school in state history to win the championship country 3 years in a row while being the first to do so in the country's largest classification.

2003 was Allen's first season to reach the country's semi-finals, losing to Southlake Carroll.

In 2006 the university football team finished its season as District 9-5A champion by beating Plano East in the last game of the regular season, 22-17. The only loss is Garland in the season opener. In the Allen Eagles playoffs beat Rowlett, Mesquite, Round Rock, and Spring Westfield, and made it to the semi-finals of the country where they lost to Southlake Carroll. The team's regular season record is 9-1 with an overall record of 13-2.

The Eagles had a perfect regular season (10-0) in 2007, followed by a first-round playoff defeat to Rowlett to end the season.

After completing the regular season 2008 with a 9-1 record, the Eagles defeated the Southern Grand Prairie, Coppell, Odessa Permian, Trinity Euless, Round Rock Stony Point, and Fort Bend Hightower in the state championship to earn their first time state title, 5A Div I Texas. After winning the championship, Allen Eagles is ranked # 2 in the country by ESPN Rise and Yahoo! Rivals High School ratings and they were ranked # 5 by the MaxPreps poll.

In the 2011 season, the Eagles were unbeaten in the regular season with a perfect record (10-0), winning the first round of playoffs against Keller Central but losing to Euless Trinity for the second year in a row.

The 2012 season marks the start of a record victory victory for the Eagles. Allen went 15-1 this season, only to lose to Coppell at the start of the season.

Allen won the 5A Division I 5-2 Division I State Championship game against Houston Lamar, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, on December 22, 2012.

Allen went 10-0 in the 2015 regular season but lost in the First Division Country semi-finals to Westlake High School (Texas), snapping the best-of-the-game 57-game program, the 2nd longest ever in the state of Texas (the longest 68 games , set by Celina High School.)

Allen went 10-0 in the regular 2016 season but lost the semi-final Division I to The Woodlands High School.

Allen won the 6-6 Division I football championship game 35-33 against Lake Travis High School at AT & amp; T Stadium in Arlington, on December 23, 2017.

Allen was named the national champion by High School Football America after the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons.

New stadium

Due to the popularity of the program and the student population, the school was authorized, through an approved April 2009 referendum, to build an 18,000 seat stadium (Allen Stadium) for the team. The stadium (which costs almost $ 60 million) opened for the 2012 football season. It is the fifth largest state school stadium in the state, but the largest is designed for the use of just one team. The new facility features a lift room, wrestling training facilities, and indoor golf facilities.

On February 27, 2014, the stadium was closed due to cracks in the concrete so it was not safe to use. The 2014 varsity football season plays every game on the road, and still manages to unbeaten and win their third consecutive title earning the nickname "Road Warriors" by local media.

After about $ 10 million in structural and design improvements by Pogue Construction and PBK (both district and citizen Allen have to pay extra), Allen's stadium officially reopens on 5 June 2015, for the 2015 Class graduation and allows the university's football team to once again hosting matches.

Rivalry

Allen has been in the same district as the three Plano High School High School Plano (Plano East, Plano Senior, and Plano West) Secondary Schools for two decades. Geographical neighbors, schools form four of the 5 largest schools in the state, with Allen as the largest, and the second largest Plano West. Although the two districts have a long history with each other, Allen's recent success has reduced the old competition. Over the past ten seasons, Allen has a combined record of 28-2 against Plano's schools, with the last loss coming in 2005 against Plano Senior. Allen had a footballing streak against Plano East starting in 1999, although the school was smaller for most of the year. This success has allowed Allen to capture the District Title eight seasons in a row.

Outside the district, Allen already has competition with other well-known powerhouse programs:

  • SMA Coppell and Allen have had some intense games, with the last regular season missing from Allen who returned to 2012 when they fell to Coppell 27-24 in the OT. Both teams are 6A powerhouses, with Coppell reaching the country's quarterfinals in 2010 and continue to qualify for the playoffs while Allen has three-peat from 2012 to 2014, with their single loss in 2012 being Coppell. By 2016 Allen travels back to Coppell for the first time since losing them in 2012 and beating Coppell by a score of 42-20, withdrew in the fourth quarter after a 21-20 Allen score in the third quarter.
  • Southlake Carroll has become a rival program for Allen Eagles. Carroll ended the Eagle playoffs running four straight seasons between 2003 and 2006, twice in the state's semi-finals. Allen and Carroll did not meet again until the 2010 playoff round in the second half. In the last game of the rule, Allen scored a game-binding goal from 40 yards out to push the game into an extension of time. In the second overtime, Allen decides to go for a 2 point conversion to victory but stops the meter short, giving Carroll a win. This game is considered the best game in Texas in the 2000s. Allen and Carroll did not meet again until 2012, but for the first time in the regular season, as well as for the first game in their new stadium. Allen eventually defeated Southlake Carroll, with a score of 24-0, turning off the Dragons. In 2013, the Eagles travel to Dragon Stadium in Southlake, defeating Carroll once more.
  • Euless Trinity has also been a rival of Allen for the last few seasons. Trinity and Allen first met in the regular 2008 season, when the Trinity Trojans were ranked number one of the high school teams in the country. Allen lost at home (losing his first home in 4 seasons) to Trojans 24-14. The two teams met again in the same season, in the 5-0 Division playoff side of the country, both of which have not lost the game since their first game. This time, Allen won, disappointing the top Trojans 34-21. The two teams meet again in the regular 2009 season at Trinity, where Allen beat Trinity 35-28. Both teams meet again in the 2010 state playoffs, this time Trinity beat Allen 37-35. Both teams will once again meet in the 2014 playoff round where Allen will emerge as the 30-27 winner.
  • DeSoto has become Allen's newest rival. Allen has beaten DeSoto in the 4th consecutive playoffs of seasons; 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
