In Top Gear , a BBC auto show, one of the regular features of the event since 2002 is various forms of races performed by presenters, either to each other or to invited guests. The show features a number of epic races, where one of the presenters - Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May, and sometimes The Stig - drives in a race against another in the form of other transportation. This race usually involves Clarkson driving while Hammond and May travel the same as a combination of airplane, train, or ferry. May said that the race was planned as close as possible. From a distance so far, this car has won most of the race, with the exception of the London cross epic, where the car was beaten by bicycle, a boat on the Thames and public transport; Ferrari vs Daytona Powerboat, where the boat wins and Shelby Mustang GT500 vs. High Speed âââ ⬠<â ⬠Video Top Gear Races

London Race - Car vs. Bicycle vs. Boat vs. Public Transport - Distance 17 miles
Series of Five, Five Episodes
May (in the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class) race Hammond (using Sirrus Limited's special hybrids), The Stig (using London's public transport system), and Clarkson (in Cougar motorboat) from Kew across to London City Airport. Stig starts taking the bus, then climbs onto the Tube before taking the DLR. Hammond had taken the lead from the start, though the traffic light meant May stayed close behind. The speed limit of 9mph on most of the Thames River put Clarkson firmly in the last place. The congestion in Picadilly allowed Hammond to escape from May, which slowed after the Metropolitan Police stopped him to check the camera license. With Hammond 8 miles from the airport, Clarkson passes the Wandsworth Bridge, where the Thames point has no speed limit. He therefore fired past May and Stig, but was surprised to find Hammond still winning by a fair margin. The Stig arrived moments later, beating May 15 minutes. Despite the results shown in the film, the mocking presenter denied this result (saying things like Hammond were killed in an accident and the Clarkson ship exploded that 'killed' him), and insisted that Mei in Mercedes-Benz won the race enough. Winner: Bicycle

Nissan GT-R vs. Japan Public Transit System - 355 miles Distance

First they take the limited express train from Hakui to Kyoto, before boarding the bullet train to Shin-Yokohama, they then have to ride the Yokohama Subway to Yokohama Station, where they take the suburban train to Kurihama and take the bus to the ferry. While in Tokyo, Clarkson inadvertently turned off the satnav system in the GT-R and struggled to turn it back on because the system only spoke Japanese, spending 45 minutes. By the time he managed to revive him, Hammond and May had taken the lead. However, May and Hammond were temporarily separated when their train broke out. They finally rejoined when Hammond asked May to hold the bus. May and Hammond then crossed the Tokyo Bay by ferry, from where they used folding bicycles (carried in their suitcases) to the cable car, which took them to the top of Nokogiri Mountain; but Clarkson has reached the top, just 3 minutes before them. Winner: Car

Economic Race to Blackpool - Jaguar XJ vs VW Polo vs. Subaru Legacy - Distance 750 miles
Series Twelve, Episode Four
With the team ordering to light up the famous Blackpool Illuminations, all three are presented with the challenge of deciding which of them will get the honor to pull the switch. It takes the form of a race from Basel to Blackpool, takes their preferred route and uses unmodified production cars, the only restriction is they can only use one fuel tank. The three presenters chose diesel vehicles - Hopefully Subaru's Legacy, Hammond Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion, to the ridicule of his compatriot, and Clarkson Jaguar XJ. He has regarded the race as a waste, since the numbers show no production car at that time could make a distance, and therefore decided to "fail in style and comfort". Finally, Stig was lowered at Blackpool to pull the switch if no one came.
Each presenter takes a different route throughout France. Hammond chose to be as short as possible, while May added 30 miles to avoid mountains and several towns. Clarkson headed straight for the nearest highway and drove "like crazy", heating up the chair, charging his phone and running the radio in the hope of emptying his fuel tank in France. After initially struggling with consumption, both Hammond and May realized their speed was too slow, and decided to speed up. Maybe catch up on Hammond, and both start a duel that overtook up to Calais, arriving 40 minutes behind Clarkson.
The presenters have also chosen different routes throughout the UK. Hammond again chose the shortest, through M1 and M6. Can decide to avoid the risk of M6 traffic by heading along M1 to Leeds, then switch to M62. Clarkson chose to use the M40, with his theoretical route turned into M6 in Birmingham, although he really tried running out of fuel near his home. Despite wasting fuel, he graduated Oxford with a considerable degree left over, and slowed down, finally taking the race seriously. When Hammond found out that Clarkson was still running, he picked up speed and took over Jaguar on the M6 ââexpressway. Given the almost empty tank, Clarkson decided to stay economical until the range reached 0, as Hammond's payload had drastically reduced the BlueMotion range.
With May out of the way because of his slow speed and trouble free M6, Hammond's theoretical reach reaches 0. Once Jaguar does the same, Clarkson speeds up to catch Hammond. However, his accusations were too late, as Hammond was greeted with a police escort outside Blackpool. Clarkson arrived less than a minute later. Probably finally finished, though 40 minutes after the celebration ended. With a few seconds before the transition, Richard - despite winning - claims Jeremy must replace the lamp, and in the next argument, Stig pulls the switch. After that, found the Clarkson car has 120 miles of fuel remaining, giving the Jaguar a range of nearly 900 miles. Hammond and May both admitted that although Polo arrived first, Jaguar would be declared the winner of "authentic". Winner: Jaguar XJ

Series Nineteen, Episode Three (February 10, 2013)
Clarkson ran Hammond and May from Wembley Stadium to San Siro in Milan, where the winners will get free tickets to watch AC Milan play Anderlecht in UEFA Champions League. But Clarkson is limited to the cars he likes that cost no more than Ã, à £ 35,000. He decided to drive a Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 while Hammond and May traveled by public transport. They took the combination bus and commuter train to St. Pancras International, where they then take the early Eurostar train to Paris Gare du Nord. On arrival, they took the metro train across Paris to the Gare de Lyon before taking the TGV to Milan. They then took Metro Milan to Lotto Fiera before running to the stadium. With only one ticket up for grabs, Hammond and May raced to the finish line. May, who refused to appear on television, pulled a folding bike out of her purse in hopes of surpassing her partner. Hammond walked faster and took the tickets. After the race, Clarkson blamed the roadwork in France for losing it in the race. It is the only Top Gear long race race where cars are beaten by public transport. Winner: Train

Toyota Auris 1.8L vs. Sailboat AC45 - Distance 410 miles
Seri Twenty, Episode One
When a confused May questions his choice of vehicle, Clarkson explains that it is a rental car, which he thinks makes it the fastest in the world because he can burn it until he bumps into it.
Clarkson had to drive south on the Coromandel Peninsula before he could turn north toward Northland, making his journey as far as 410 miles, passing a direct route in May of 220 miles. During the race Clarkson misused his car and made it unbearable after crashing into a rock wall to avoid a tractor. He was forced to stop, visit the rental car center, and exchange the damaged Auris for the others - then hoped that May did not notice that his car was now red. May was constantly being battered by rough seas, and lost his satellite phone during the race after being hit by a big wave.
Despite trying to make land using 90 Mile Beach, Clarkson was beaten to the finish line in May, which has an hour's lead over the car. Also, May noticed that the car was no longer blue at the end of the race. Winner: Boat Screen
St Petersburg Race - Car vs. Bicycle vs. Hovercraft vs. Public Transport - Distance 18 miles
Series Twenty-Two, Episode One
The presenters decided to repeat the race they were doing in London among them all, this time across St. Petersburg. Clarkson chose the hovercraft, Hammond picked a bike Ã, à £ 9,000 (Pinarello Dogma F8), May took Renault Twizy, and Stig again relied on public transportation. From the beginning, neither Hammond nor Clarkson was easy with their transportation options. Clarkson found riding a hovercraft - which he called the Russian design of a Hovervan presenter - became quite difficult; along with his tools and controls in Russian, he can not make the plane forward or straight. Meanwhile, Hammond, while managing to overtake and then taken over by May, ran to collide with city tramlines. Hammond caught the wheels on one of the rails and fell, releasing the bicycle's derailleur and making it useless. The others continued to race and Hammond soon re-entered the race with a second bicycle, borrowed from a pedestrian (who was given a ride for his work as compensation).
May, meanwhile, did not have any problems, and so was able to enjoy the car he drove. He said how much he liked the fact that it was designed for European cities, had two chairs together, an electric machine, and a scissor door. However, when he reached the center of the city, he found that the streets and city streets were much broader than he had hoped. Clarkson, who managed to lead despite problems handling, immediately hit the center of the city, where he tried to use a narrow and peaceful canal to avoid heavy river traffic he encountered. Unfortunately for him, this leads him toward a low bridge, which requires him to deflate the hovercraft skirt repeatedly to press under the bridge. Though his new bike was slower and less comfortable than his first ride, Hammond started chasing May and Clarkson.
Clarkson and Hammond soon reached the finish line, with Hammond coming just moments after Clarkson, only to find that both had been beaten in May, who were waiting to hide for them. While they commented that the car had been redeemed in the race, they realized that one of them was missing. Stig, who did not experience major problems while using public transportation, failed to finish in the end: he had seen Porsche 911 and banged his helmet against the fence that protected him. Winner: Car
