Due to Canadian regulations allowing stations from different regions to be brought in the same market, some games may be available in every Sunday time slot through a combination of domestic and American stations from various regions, without a Sunday Ticket subscription. In contrast, outside of some areas where several neighboring network affiliates are available, no more than three games can be aired in the US market on every Sunday afternoon (up to four games in week 17).
Canadian university football
In 2016, Sportsnet and TVA Sports broadcast the U Sports national playoffs, Mitchell Bowl, Uteck Bowl, and Vanier Cup. TVA Sports brings many QSSF games. In 2016, the Sportsnet City sister broadcast network began broadcasting the four-game U Sports Game of the Week game. Games not covered by this contract are often done by local cable community channels.
In 2015, Global aired the semi-finals and the Hardy Trophy championship as part of the Western Canada Shaw TV (Shaw Cable) conference package (at the time, Shaw owns Global directly).
AS. college football
Many games ESPN School Football are shown by TSN feeds, including regular season games and bowls (which, in the past, were shared with Sportsnet 360, and did not withstand conflicts with other programs such as the World Junior Hockey Championship) , and Playoff Football College. TSN also brings pre-match ESPN College GameDay .
Game coverage is also available from US networks conducted in Canada, such as BeIN Sports, Big Ten Network, and CBS Sports Network, along with broadcast network coverage or syndication packages (such as ACC Networks). Off-market sports packages offered by several providers including other games from US outlets not available in Canada (such as Fox Sports Networks, and ESPN games not captured by the TSN channel).

National Hockey League
Rogers Communications is the sole NHL national copyright holder in Canada in the NHL 2014-15 season. Most national television broadcasts air on the Sportsnet property, and include, but are not limited to:
French rights are granted a sub license to Quebecor Media; all coverage airs on TVA Sports. La super soirÃÆ' à © e LNH serves as the main broadcast on Saturday night, usually featuring Montreal Canadiens.
Regional
The Canadian team also contracts with local or regional broadcasters for selected pre-season and regular season games not covered by the national contract. This deal is separate from national rights treaties, and can include up to 60 regular season games per season. The current rights are in the NHL 2017-18 season.
Each team's regional team broadcast is limited to viewers from the team's original broadcast area as assigned by the NHL. Outside the area, this broadcast is made available exclusively through the NHL Center Ice (TV) or Rogers NHL Live (streaming). If a home channel is available outside the team area (for example, a Sportsnet feed outside the market), the game broadcast must be discolored in this other area. Sportsnet also operates a part-time channel for Canucks, Flames, and Oilers in case of scheduling conflicts: this channel is bound by Sportsnet One license. During that period holding rights, Sportsnet uses CJNT City station as an overflow channel for Canadiens games instead.
Under the previous rights agreement (2002-14) with RDS, Canadiens canceled a separate regional rights contract (at its founding, RDS was the only French national sporting channel in Canada) and allowed all its games to be broadcast nationally in French together with RDS package. With the transition to TVA Sports as the national copyright holder, Canadiens chose to negotiate a 12-year regional rights agreement with RDS (this team is partly owned by BCE Inc.'s trunk) in the team's designated broadcast area.
US teams near the Canadian-US border can now also sell Canadian regional broadcasting rights to their games. In the 2013-14 season, Bell Satellite TV and Bell Fibe TV have regional rights to broadcast Buffalo Sabers to parts of Canada within a 50 mile radius of First Niagara Center, around the stretch from Niagara Falls to the Stoney Creek community in Hamilton. Sabers game broadcasts are available to Bell TV customers in the region at no additional cost, and moreover are no longer available as part of the NHL Center Ice package through other providers serving the region. Detroit Red Wings, whose market is bordered by Windsor, Ontario, is likely to be able to sell the same rights but has not done so.
As with any other sports property, broadcasting of games in US terrestrial stations conducted in Canada, such as NBC's national broadcasting network rights package as well as the Chicago Blackhawks WGN-TV broadcast, is not subject to extinction for Canadian cable/satellite customers receiving the stations.
Canadian Hockey League
Sportsnet and TVA Sports air the Memorial Cup tournament and choose another game from all the CHL member leagues. Many regular season games are shown locally by the prevailing cable community channel.
AS. college hockey
TSN and RDS also carry regular season game packages from various broadcasters (mainly NBCSN, and other regional sports networks such as NESN). Games are also available through Big Ten Network and CBS Sports Network.

Through a separate rights agreement negotiated with each team, TSN also holds the rights to all Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC matches beyond the national rights treaty.
