Plot summary
The Fire In happens in Crescent Wayward, and it is about a 20-year-old man named David Rain, who tries to figure out the mystery behind Liz and Lucy Pennykettle's relationship with the dragon. He finally befriends them and learns the secrets of the dragons.

Character
Elizabeth Pennykettle (Liz) - The landlord who makes the mysterious clay dragon come alive again. His special dragon is Gwillan, who spills his rips of fire in Dark Fire.
Lucy Pennykettle - Liz's daughter, an 11-year-old girl who strongly believes in dragons, but can be very naughty. He also likes squirrels and tries to find them. His special dragon is Gwendolen. He also encouraged David to write stories about squirrels and their adventures in Wayward Crescent.
David Rain - The main character of this series. David is Liz's tenant, and he attends Scrubbley College. He has written a book called Snigger and the Nutbeast for Lucy's birthday. He also has a dragon writing named Gadzooks.
Gadzooks - The clay dragon David helped write. Gadzooks brings notepads and pencils around him to write stories or notes.
Guinevere - Guinevere, a woman of the past, captures the tear of Gawain fire. She gave birth to a daughter who brought real fire and spent it for years. He is also the ancestor of Liz and Lucy Pennykettle.
Gwendolen - Guinevere's son, made of clay, flesh and blood. He is the ancestor of Suzanna Martindale (introduced in Icefire, the second book of the series).
Gwilanna - The evil bast who helps Guinevere and bewitch Gwendolen for her.
Tasks - The last dragon who pours his tears for Guinevere.
Henry Bacon - Neighbor neighbor Pennykettle, a protagonist who tried to help Pennykettles, but, because of his ignorance, he often did the opposite.
Sophie Prentice - A girl who works at an animal shelter and becomes David's boyfriend
Greenfingers George (Mr. Digwell) - Scrubbley gardener for library gardens.
