The Switch Drag Race is a Chilean reality reality television series, presented by Mega as a local version of the RuPaul's Drag Race American show. The purpose of this series is to find the best "transformista" or drag rug from Chile. Similar to his American counterpart, The Switch asked his contestants to sing live, lip-sync, dance, and imitate.
Hosted by Karla Constant, the first season of The Switch , subtitle El Arte de Transformismo , aired on October 8, 2015 and ended on January 17, 2016 when Luz Violeta from Chile was crowned as the winner. After more than a year of hiatus, The Switch returns to Mega for the second season, with subtitle DesafÃÆ'á Mundial , on Sunday, March 25, 2018.

Format
Season 1 of The Switch consists of seventeen participants, generally divided into two groups, who are challenged by demonstrating their ability to make a makeover, imitating female characters, dancing, lip-syncing, and singing directly on stage.. Along with their demonstration of skills, The Switch shows the life story of each contestant, giving details of their personal experience to a Chilean audience.
Season 2 consists of six contestants who returned from the previous season as well as seven new contestants from outside Chile. Participants were divided into two groups; a group of re-contestants and other groups formed from their challengers from around the world.

The winner of The Switch received the CLP $ 10,000,000 main prize (about USD $ 15,700) and a one-year supply of products and accessories from AnyHair, a Spanish company by way of Chile specializing in hair extensions, wigs and ornaments hair.

Season 2
Challenges
Each episode, with a guide from six celebrity trainers, contestants compete in the following challenges;
- Leader Challenge: In this first test, every contestant from a Chilean group is paired with contestants from the opposite "strangers" group to form a duo. Together, they must imitate the Celebrity Artistic Challenge of ÃÆ' la Season 1. The duo managed to gain immunity and leadership power over both groups respectively.
- Artistic Challenge: In this second test, the remaining contestants compete in their respective teams (one team comprising Chile and the other consisting of "foreigners ") in a performance-based Artistic Challenge, similar to Season 1. Both groups compete in one Imitation Challenge each. The lowest performing contestant gets nominated by the jury to become a duelist in Extreme Immature Duel.
- Extreme Immature Duel: The two lowest scorers in each of the Artistic Challenges teams face each other in the fast-paced challenge of imitation Imitation, in what they must transform into pop singers famous and performing a number within a certain period of time, with the help of their respective team leaders. The losers of this duel effectively send their entire team to the Elimination Gala.
- Mirror nomination: Each secure team will nominate someone from the losing team to go directly to the Elimination Duel. Contestants with the most votes will not be able to participate in the Gala Elimination.
- Elimination of the Gala (Singing Challenge): Teams whose members lose the previous duel must compete with each other in singing ÃÆ' la Season 1, where their scores from 1 to 7 by each judge, with the lowest scorers sent to the Elimination Duel.
- Duel Elimination: The player with the lowest score in Gala Elimination is against the nominated contestant during the Mirror Nomination round. They both do the live song they choose and the judge chooses by the majority to be eliminated.

- Contestant team mates lose the Extreme Imitation Challenge and are nominated to compete in Gala Elimination.
- Contestants lost Extreme Imitation Duel and nominated their team for Gala Elimination.
- Contestants compete in the Elimination Gala and get a high enough score to be declared safe.
- Contestants compete in Elimination Duel and are declared safe as a result.
- Participants return for a chance to win back into the competition and win.
- Participants return for a chance to win back into the competition and lose.
- Contestants compete in Elimination Duel and are eliminated.
