Dragon's Dogma Online is an online massively multiplayer (MMORPG) role-playing game developed and published by Capcom for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in 2015. Follow-up on games action-playing 2012 Dragon's Dogma , this game has players who take on the role of "Arisen" in service to White Dragon, who is in charge of defending Lestania lands from monsters attacks. Gameplay brings more of the basic battles and Pawning companion systems of Dragon's Dogma while incorporating the MMORPG genre feature.
This game was created in 2012 with Dark Arisen , an expanded version of Dragon's Dogma . Development is postponed to 2013 due to the development of Dark Arisen . The returning staff included director Kento Kinoshita, producer Minae Matsukawa and composer Tadayoshi Makino. This scenario was written by Kazushige Nojima, noted for his work on the series Final Fantasy . This game reached one million downloads within a month of its release, and reviewed positively.

Dragon's Dogma Online is a massive online role-playing game (MMORPG) where players take on the role of "Arisen", a soldier from White Dragon who defends Lestania lands from monsters. The Arisen is a customizable avatar created by players early in the game, with gender, physical and other features like their customizable sound. The game center is the Temple of the White Dragon, with the remaining Lestania available for exploration after the opening quest. The player progresses through the game by completing the quest, which is received from game characters that can not be played and is divided into three categories; the main quest is connected to the central narrative, World Quests which is an exclusive multiplayer quest where up to eight players work together during search; and Solo Quest which can be completed by one player. The mission provides experience and prize money, and is safeguarded based on Arisen's current level of experience.
The Arisen uses a character class, which opens different combat options and support for use in combat, in addition to providing passive capabilities. The base class type is "Fighter", a near-melee based close-up character focusing on attacking; "Hunter", which can strike from a distance using bows and arrows; "Imam", specializing in healing and magic; and "Tank", which has a high defense capability and can attract the attention of the enemy. Combat uses a real-time action-based battle system similar to the original Dragon's Dogma . Monsters have varying degrees of experience, affecting how much damage caused can occur during combat. Every enemy has a weak point that can be attacked because of high damage, with some boss encounters relying on this mechanics. Every enemy has fatigue and stamina meters, both of which are related to the energy and strength of their attacks. Thinning and manipulating this meter allows players to deal with higher damage. Smaller enemies can be jailed and held up by allied allies.
Along with the Written, the players created a human-like companion dubbed the Pawn to accompany them in their quest. As Generated, Pawn is a customizable avatar that is called to the world at the beginning of the game, given the gender, general appearance, and class. Pawns accompanying the Awakened in their quest, and assisting them in battle. When cast out in battle, the Pion can be revived in no time. If left completely unconscious, they are removed from the battlefield and retreated to a place in the world where the Pion gathers, where players can call them again.

Synopsis
Dragon's Dogma Online takes place in Lestania land. The whole narrative, which focuses on a role in the world of five powerful dragons, is planned in five phases of the story or "season". As long as his people can remember, Lestania has been protected by the White Dragon, who helped mankind prosper until the Golden Dragon challenged him to fight three hundred years before the opening of the game. After three days of continuous fighting, the Golden Dragon was killed, but the White Dragon was badly wounded during the battle. The second story phase begins six months after the first event, Arisen helps a young amnesia girl named Cecily, defending her from a black knight looking for her death. Coinciding with his arrival is a fungus-like disease that began to infect Lestania. Cecily finally regains her memory, revealing herself as an Arisen who serves Wilmia, the dragon of neighboring Findam's nature. Traveling to Findam, they find the disease has infected Wilmia and the magical tree that keeps the soil balance. While the Great Trees purufied, Arisen's party was forced to kill the desperate Wilmia to encourage the birth of a new dragon. Their task is over, Arisen's group returns to purified Lestania.
The third story phase begins when the White Dragon domain is attacked by the "Dragon Eye", a powerful projection of the evil dragon who currently ruled the Acker nation of Chelan after killing the original Fire Dragon. The Awakened and their friends are kidnapped by power, arriving to find Acker Chelan in a hopelessly apathetic state after years under the reign of the evil dragon. Acker Chelan's last hope was Ned; As the emerging and last prince survives the royal line of land, he is destined to become the next Fire Dragon. The Awakened must cooperate with the survival forces of Ned and Acker Chelan to overthrow the evil dragon and his monster army.
Development
Early draft Dragon's Dogma Online was made in 2012 after the original release of Dragon's Dogma . Capcom receives many comments from players who want to play together using the full multiplayer option, which is not in Dragon's Dogma even though it sports online elements through a pawn division system. Because development efforts are invested in Dark Arisen , an expanded version of the original game, production on Dragon's Dogma Online must stop. Producer Minae Matsukawa and director Kento Kinoshita have previously worked on Dark Arisen . Hiroyuki Kobayashi acted as executive producer. The development team was brought in from Dragon's Dogma . This scenario was written by Kazushige Nojima, who has gained fame for his writing work in the Final Fantasy series and Kingdom Hearts. Nojima was brought on the project in 2013 by Matsukawa, who has worked with him on Last Ranker. The music is composed by Tadayoshi Makino, who works in the original game, and Azusa Kato, who works on Resident Evil 6 and Sengoku Basara 4. Dragon's Dogma Online is Makino's last project for Capcom before becoming a freelance. Acting as music director for the project, he finds challenging music despite the established Dragon Dogma style, as he needs to attract series fans and attract newcomers.
The goal is to recreate the game system of Dragon's Dogma in the MMORPG genre. While the monthly fee is considered, Capcom decided to create a free-to-play game so as to increase the base of potential players. Reception
The Limited Edition of Dragon's Dogma Online for PlayStation 3 debuted on Japan's game sales chart in fourth place with sales of more than 29,000 units. The PS3 version reached the twelfth place with over 8,000 units sold. On all platforms, this game receives over 700,000 downloads a day after its release. Within ten days of its release, the game has received a million downloads in Japan.
