LEGO Castle is a medieval and fantasy Lego theme featuring knights and palaces. It was introduced in 1978 to 1997. The medieval theme was later brought into the Kingdom of LEGO Knights and later the LEGO Kingdoms theme. Lego Castle sets are marketed under LEGOLAND banners until 1991. LEGO decides to change and add the LEGO System in 1992 but was removed after 1999.

Castle (1978-1983)
Castle is the first Lego Castle theme, and, like Space, is still very popular. 375 Castle (often called Yellow Castle) is the most famous set of themes. Often known by fans as "Original Castles", the knights display a portion of the visor that can be moved, with the eye gap, and the symbol that runs backward from the front facing the visor along the helmet. This knight also wore a symbol (either tunic or chest) above their bodies. It was not until 1990 when the knights came with visors and armor armor that could move, because the knights between 1984-89 had strong grill helmets while their "armor" was just a texture on their bodies. Since there are no special pieces of horses, the horses are built entirely of bricks.

Different factions (1984-1992)
In 1984, LEGO released the first Castle set which has more realistic palaces, knights, and colors (like a palace of gray than yellow) that more accurately describes the Middle Ages than with the Classical Castle set from the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The 1984 castle set featured many pieces and newly introduced weapons. Examples are: one-piece horse, horse saddle, new knight helmet with fixed visor, feather hair (there are three types in five colors: red, blue, yellow, white and black), waving flags and bows and arrows. Many of these new pieces will be included in the set of future palaces. The set of the 1990 castle brought further changes - as the knights now have armor and armor helmets with moving visors.
Black and Black Falcons (1984-1992)
Sets released during this period mainly feature two types of shield illustrations. One shield featuring black and white birds with a black and white background, split in the middle, with a blue or gold border. The mini numbers associated with this shield almost always have black pants, black helmets, and blue torso with black sleeves, often with a bird's emblem on them. Fans have labeled this set as "Black Falcons", although this term only appears once in the official LEGO literature (Black Falcon's Fortress), and the set is never labeled anything other than "Castle". Black Falcon Castle is known as Eagle Crest Castle in Canada.
In 1984, the first "Black Falcons" castle was 6073 Knight's Castle. It came with six minifigures; two archers, two spears, and two knights mounted on a horse. Like the yellow castle, the set features a special hinge piece that can open the castle to look inside and into the interior. The Black Falcons were also featured on another set in the same year as 6021 Jousting Knights and 6030 Catapult. In 1986, Knight Castle was replaced by the Black Falcon Castle. The overall structure and size of the set is similar to the previous Black Falcons castle, and includes the same type of minifigures (including two knights mounted). The main difference is that two defense towers have been moved forward, and made with more rounded (octagonal) corner pieces, leaving behind space for a small roof structure with yellow Tudor walls. This set is quite unique because it is the first set to include an octagonal corner piece and a yellow Tudor wall, as well as the only set to have a Black Falcons blue flag.
Although no new Black Falcons set will be released, Black Falcon will appear in other sets such as Knight Black 6059 Knights Stronghold and 6057 Sea Serpent; Knights Stronghold features Black Falcons as attacking a gate maintained by the Black Knights which implies that the two factions are at war with each other.
LEGO has re-released the old Black Falcons set. Examples are 6062 Battering Ram, 6103 Castle Mini Figures, and 6059 Knight's Stronghold. In 2002, at the request of fans, Lego re-released the re-named Black Falcon Fortress (# 10039) as Lego Legend. This set is almost identical to the 1986 set: the horse saddle has two clips instead of one, and the shield ornament on 'breastplates' minifigures is slightly different in shape.
Lion Knights/Crusaders (1984-1992)>
The device would eventually become the basis of the Lion Knights released in the same year as the Black Falcons in 1984. The Lion's Knight Shield uses a blue lion with a yellow background or a yellow lion with a blue background, both with a red border. The mini numbers associated with this shield always have blue or red pants and a red torso with blue sleeves, and their helmets are usually gray; and although many of them have a shield-like emblem on their shirt, it's not the same as the lion shield design, but instead, it's two crossed black and golden axes with black and gold backgrounds, split in the middle, with red borders. Some of these sets were then inducted into the lion knight subfields, so some fans retroactively assumed all the sets were set to the Ape Knights. Like the Black Falcons, Lego has never officially renamed this faction for some time, although catalogs in the United States and Australia use the name of Lion Knights while Canada uses Lion Crest. The 1992 Canadian Catalog officially establishes the faction as a Crusader.
Over the years, Lion Knights are included in many sets along with Black Falcons, Forestmen, and Black Knights. Examples include the 6067 Guarded Inn in 1986, 6103 Castle Mini Figures in 1988, and 6060 Knights 'Challenge, a set that was the successor after the 1979 6083 Knights' Tournament, in 1989 (ten years later).
An unusual set of Lion Knights was the 6041 Armor Shop in 1986, which was the only set to have a rare black short sword and Lion Knight Flag.
The first castle under the Lion Knights is the 6080 King's Castle. This castle is one of the largest Lego castle sets produced. Four horse knights and eight soldiers/guards were included. The castle walls can be opened to play inside the castle.
The second and final Lion Knight casting was released at 6081 King's Mountain Fortress in 1990. This was one of the first sets featuring the newly created visor helmet and armor. Crossbows and glow in the dark ghost are also new pieces that are introduced. The King's Mountain Fortress is also the first Lego fort installed in the baseplate that will appear in the Lego palace and also in Lego Pirates. Two exclusive elements of the set include a princess and a black bird. A small Crusader-style set, King's Catapult appears to be the only Lego castle to be released in 1991. Finally, the last Lions Lords style set produced was 1463 Treasures released in 1992, another small set that included an attractive soldier a treasure chest in a wagon.
In 2001, Lego again released the famous Guarded Inn, re-numbered (# 10000) as Lego Legend. The set consists of two Lion Knights, Black Falcon Knight attached, and inn keepers. This set is the only structure to enter the red Tudor wall. One change in re-publishing is the saddle horse having two clips, not one clip. Since 1984, Lego Castle has a saddle with one clip (except saddle horses) on one side until 1992 when it was converted into two clips.
The Lion Knights (like other knight factions) are in open conflict with Forestmen, as shown by some catalog diorama, analogous to the legendary conflict between King John of England versus Robin Hood and Merry Men of Outlaws. Set like 6060 Knights' Challenge suggested that Lion Knights have a respected competition with other knights, Black Falcons and Black Knights. The 1992 Canadian catalog depicts the Lion Knights (renaming them as Crusaders) as "seeking to take over state power" while also establishing the Black Knights as "the rural old ruler", may indicate that these factions could go to war.
Forests (1987-1992)
The Forestmen theme was introduced in 1987 when Lego Castle released the first Forestmen set of 6066 Camouflage Outpost. This set is a hideout that features a large tree adjacent to a cave where the Forestmen live. The inside of the set can be opened to look into the cave and allow more play. The set includes six Forestmen minifigures, most Minecraft minecraft in a set. This set is also one of the first sets to have a brown horse. In 1988, Hideout Forestmen 6054 was released; it is a small tree hideaway occupied by two Forestmen. The following year, 6077 Forestmen's River Fortress, which is the largest collection of Forestmen, was released. This hideaway is an abandoned castle covered with trees, tendrils and foliage, where it is surrounded by a moat. This includes five Forestmen, and Lion Knight pedaling the raft.
In 1990, the last original Forestmen hideout, 6071 Forestmen's Crossing, was released. This set has a unique baseplate of a small stream printed on it with white dots marked on the button to indicate where to place the pieces. The set displays old towers and large trees connected by a rope bridge that crosses the river. This is the only set to include the Minifigure Forestwoman. Some forest people belong to a small collection of non-Forestmen Castle, such as 6103 Castle Mini Figures. At the end of 1992, the Forestmen were stopped as factions, along with the Lion Knights.
The Forestmen are considered enemies of other factions who have knights and castles, such as the Lion Knights, Black Falcons, and Black Knights. Some say that Forestmen can be compared to Robin Hood and his criminals, while the Lion Knights (with Lion Crest) represent King John and the British throne. (In legend, Robin Hood supports King Richard the Lionheart who leads one of the Crusades, but after Richard's brother John replaces Hood's throne is declared a criminal.)
In 1996, a Forestmen subtheme was recreated, called Dark Forest, which featured a band of evil villains.
Black Knights (1988-1994)
Like the Lion Knights, the Black Knights officially appeared in 1992 and are based on the initial set, non-sub-affiliate-schemes, some of which are retrospectively included in the group. They are characterized by red, yellow, and blue dragon shields.
The first Black Knights style set to be released was 6085 Black Monarch's Castle in 1988, which is also the largest Black Knights ever released. The massive black castle was effectively an upgraded version of King's Castle, with the same general layout and the same complement of soldiers - four archers, four axes/spears, and four horseback riding. The big difference is the entry of the octagonal tower. This is one of the first sets to include a horse protective horse. An interesting feature of the castle is that it can be opened and closed using special "hinge" pieces, and is clasped closed using a peg and hole mechanism; this allowed him to join Knight's Stronghold and Black Monarch's Ghost (see below) to create a larger super palace. In 1989, three Black Knights-style figures were included in the Challenge 6060 Challenge set.
Two other sets of Black Knight styles were released in 1990; one of which is the gate of the city's 6059 Knights Stronghold featuring a horse knight, four soldiers, along with a big slingshot, and 6034 Black Monarch's Ghost, a set that included a single knight mounted and ghosts glittering in the dark. Like the Fortress of Mount 6081, Knights Stronghold and Black Monarch's Ghost featured a newly discovered visor helmet and armor shield for the knights. Both sets are also among the last set of Lego Castle to carry the Legoland banner. The two sets of 1990 castles were re-released in 1992 with the Lego System banner in the box, but the instruction set book still has a Legoland banner. The only change made on the 1992 birthday sets was the horse saddle. The saddles were changed from one clip into two clips since 1992 was the year that introduced the modified saddle of the Lego horse.
When the official Black Knight was launched in 1992, Dungeon Master's Castle (renamed Black Knights Castle in 1994) was released to replace Black Monarch's Castle. A number of new entities are created for new sets, including new oval shapes for shields brought by knights mounted, somewhat different dragon designs for shields, new ornate helmet types, new shirt designs for mini figures, and new dragon feathers available in four different colors (such as feather feathers). Visor shields for older helmets are redesigned to accommodate blobs on the sides, not just at the top. Older dragon triangle shields are still used in sets for infantry and guards. This set, along with Wolfpack, is the first castle set that has minifigures with the face of a mustache and beard. Two other sets of Black Knights were released in the same year as Black Knights Castle in 1992. They were 6057 Sea Serpent (Lego Castle's largest boat ever released in the 1990s) and 6009 Black Knight, a small set that included one, full steel, along with accessories. Older sets like Knights Stronghold and Black Monarch's Ghost are retroactively included as part of the Black Knights.
As 6059 Knights Stronghold and 6057 Sea Serpent featuring Black Falcons, this shows that the two factions are rivals, especially in Knights Stronghold where the Black Knights defend the gates against the Black Falcons siege. The Black Knights are also the opposite of the Wolfpack Renegades (catalog of 1992 dioramas showing Black Knights warriors chasing Wolfpack Renegade wagons, while the Black Knights Castle contains Wolfpack as a prisoner) and Dragon Masters (1993 catalog diorama showing Majisto the Witch on a dragon involving Black Knights). Like Black Falcons and Lion Knights/Crusaders
The Black Knights series continued until the end of 1994 when they were replaced by the Royal Knights in 1995. One of the last Black Knights sets released was 1917 King's Catapult in 1993, a miniset that included a knight who manned a small catapult. It was re-released in 1998.
Wolfpack_Renegades_.281992.E2.80.931993.29 "> Wolfpack Renegades (1992-1993)
The Wolfpack Renegades is a group of bandits in the world of LEGO Castle. Only three sets were made, making it the smallest Castle faction. Their main hideout is the 6075 Wolfpack Tower which includes three apostates.
The Wolfpack is one of the official Black Knights opponents during the short term, as the 1992 catalog diorama shows the Black Knights army chasing the Wolfpack Renegade wagon, while the Black Knights Castle contains the Wolfpack figure as a prisoner. Unlike Forestmen who have never been declared good or evil, most Lego literature implies that Wolfpack is an amoral criminal.
Fantasy theme (1993-2000)
Dragon Masters (1993-1995)
The Dragon Masters collection was released in August 1993. Majisto the Wizard (known as Merlin the Wizard outside the US) and glow-in-the-dark stick were introduced to the Castle series. This is the first time for Lego Castle to have a fantasy theme. The powerful wizard orders his own knight organization, Dragon Masters. Their aim seems to be to capture and possibly tame (to be used in battle) a scary fire breathing green dragon with red wings. Komodo is a new element for this series. The Dragon Master Knight has a newly designed face, and is characterized by a shield that is identical to the oval shield of the Black Knights unless they display a green dragon instead of a blue dragon. The Dragon Masters consists of magical and mystical themes. Master Dragon Masters largest is 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress. Other major sets are the 6048 Majisto Magical Workshop and 6076 Dark Dragon's Den. The total number of dragons included in the Masters Dragon set is only three.
In Europe and Asia, a total of seven Dragon Dragon sets were released in 1993. But in North America, only four sets were released in the same year. The remaining three sets - 6020 Magic Shop, 6043 Dragon Defender, and 6105 Medieval Knight - were released in 1994. One reason why this happened is because in 1994, no new castle sets were planned to be released. Therefore, it was decided that this set would fill the gap. Other smaller Dragon Master sets were released in 1994, such as the 1906 Majisto Tower and 1794 Dragon Master Chariot but their only mini castle sets. The last Masters Dragon set is 1736 Wizard's Cart featuring Majisto carrying his favorite stick and traveling by cart (loaded with treasure chests), in 1995. This marks the end of the reign of the Dragon Masters. But Dragon Masters sets inspire other castle sets to have magic and fantasy themes such as the Fright Knights.
Royal Knight (1995-1996)
Royal Knight is the first Lego theme with skeletons, beginning with the first skeleton ever "Skeleton Surprise". Their leader is the King of the Kingdom. Their biggest set is Royal Castle Knight 6090. The faction also introduced a favorite silver longsword fan, which was used by the King of the Kingdom.
Dark Forest (1996)
Dark Forest relationship with Wolfpack Renegades for the smallest Castle theme ever. This is a continuation of Forestmen, mixed with Wolfpack Renegades, but is usually considered sub-par with previous themes. The biggest set is 6079 Dark Forest Fortress. Fright Knight (1997-1998)
The Fright Knight is a soldier's faction who is not ruled by the king, but rather by Basil, Lord of 6007. The Fright Knights Lego Sets digs deeper into the supernatural aspects of Lego's "Fantasies", featuring a black dragon with a flaming-colored fire, a red- a black filled with creepy traps, a crystal ball and a Wizard of Willa, a dark wizard who is a real power behind the throne of Basil. Their headquarters are Lord of the Night of the 6097 Night.
The Kingdom of Knights (2000)
The Kingdom of Warriors centers on a conflict involving the Lions, led by King Leo, and the Bulls, led by criminal Cedric The Bull. This theme has many small sets with minifigures, and is the first Castle theme featuring two female minifigs, Queen Leonora and Princess Storm. Lion Shield was inspired by Royal Knight. The Lions castle is 6098 King Leo's Castle, while the Bulls do not have a castle.
A game, titled Lego Creator: Knights' Kingdom , was released in late 2000 by Lego Software and allows players to create their own empire based on themes.
Just as with Lego adventure lines, characters, weapons, castles and other make a special appearance on Lego Island's 2: The Brickster's Revenge, which will be the first island Pepper Roni will visit outside of Lego Island. where even the Bulls have their own castle. The set of 10176 King's Castle uses a shield symbol of this theme, but was released in 2006 as part of the Ksatria II Kingdom product line.

Knights' Kingdom II (2004 ) -2006)
The Kingdom of the Knights II , intended for ages six to twelve, was first officially announced in November 2003, in the English version of LEGO magazine. In the spring of 2004, major action figures were released in Europe; a few months later, they were released in America. Both continents acquire playsets in the summer. The Kingdom of the Knights tells the legend of the Morcia Kingdom, the fantasy world, and the adventures that took place in it. The main character is the knight of the opposing faction. This is a revamped version of the LEGO Knights' Kingdom theme, which features larger action-figure characters as well as more colorful mini-figures in the traditional set. While officially titled The Knights Kingdom on its packaging, it is popularly known as the Kingdom of the Knights II to distinguish it from original themes that included only mini LEGO characters and featured characters of knights, kings and villains different. It was also made into a trading card game and book series. 8877 Vladek Dark Wall is the largest of these themes. 10176 King's Castle is part of this product line, but not in the official storyline.
With the appearance of a new Castle line in 2007, the line was stopped.
Character
This is a list of characters in the Royal Knights line. Lord Vladek (Spring 2004 - Autumn 2004, 2005-2006): He is an adviser to King Mathias, but he puts him in a dungeon and claims the King has disappeared, and that tournaments will be held to determine the new king. He enters, and plans to use the power of the Book of Morcia to win and become king. However, the four Heroes of Knights find Mathias and defeat Vladek. Some time later, Vladek fled, and found himself in the lost kingdom of Ankoria, where he regained power by creating Vladmask, and took over the kingdom. It was here that he adopted the title of "Lord Vladek". He threatens to use Vladmask to destroy Morcia, but Sir Jayko destroys Vladmask and stops him. Vladek has a dark face, with a burning embers for permanent stung eyes and mouth. When his Vladmask is off, he can cause fear even at the most handsome supporters of the Hero Knights. The emblem is a scorpion, and it's set into his shield for everyone to know. Vladek's sword is the darkest, spooky and deadly coal. Vladek is an oddity among the kit of the Kingdom of the Knights series, where he is one of the few figures who have only one arm that can be moved through the dial on their backs. This should be because of his skill with swords, and shielding insults. Vladek's sword is perfectly capable of deflecting all the arms that can be carried, and it is rumored that he can split an arrow in the air. Now Vladek has new black and silver armor, a red robe, and a Sorcerer's Sword that is able to deflect stones and create objects from ruins.

- Orkosan Province - Santis Castle is on the flat ground of Morcia. Orcosan has many farms.
- Event:
- Vines Attack - One day, mysterious vines blocked the road to Banteras, making it difficult to leave. Story: Lord Vladek has again sought the power of the Mistlands Tower, so he can take over Morcia. This time he had hired the Rogue Knights, not the ordinary Shadow Knights. Rogue Knight is led by Dracus and his lieutenant, Weapons Master Karzon. In Morcia, Jayko, now King after defeating Vladek, hears about the return of Vladek and his troops from the evil knight, and how he was after the Mistlands Tower power. Upon hearing this, King Jayko teamed up with two newly trained knights, Sir Kentis and Sir Adric, who had to help King Jayko defend the tower of Lord Vladek and his forces from the Rogue Knights. In the end, "The Shield of Ages" was sacrificed by the mysterious Blacksmith (implied as the first king of Morcia, Orlan), the Shield used to imprison Lord Vladek in a ball above the tower, the Rogue Knights trapped in the dungeon, and Morcia was saved. As shown in the comic, the old knight did not die. Sir Danju once again became a knight coach, and was featured as a trainer for Kentis and Adric.

Castle (2007-2009)
Released in May 2007, the new Lego Castle line features a human faction led by a belligerent king against a ruling undead framework ruled by the evil Necromancer. It is also the first series to have a royal family including the Queen and Princess. It also includes other minifigs such as Champion (Golden Knight), Witch Court, and even Jester. Human faction bears the crown emblem, which causes dubbed by buyers and Lego enthusiasts as "Crowns". Their main color schemes are dark blue, light blue and gold. The undead faction has a cranial emblem, and the army is almost entirely composed of undead skeletons, mostly normal white types but also featuring new black variants. Their color scheme consists of dark red and black. In 2008, Lego Castle introduced the set with orcs, trolls, and dwarves to add to the medieval fantasy theme. Excluding Chess Set, the largest set of themes is 10193 Medieval Market Village. The final set of Castle incarnations was released in 2009 and was replaced by the new castle theme, Kingdoms, in 2010.

Kingdoms (2010-2012)
Kingdoms is the name of the new Lego Medieval theme that was released in June 2010 and replaces the fantasy-based Castle theme that has been around since 2007. The kingdom departs from the concept of a fantasy world populated by undead, orc and dwarfs; and returned to a more realistic world modeled after the Middle Ages of Europe. The only element of fantasy is the minifigures wizard. Thus, the feature set is more reminiscent of the early set of classic Castle themes from the 1980s. Indeed, the set of 7946 King's Castle was modeled after the 6080 King's Castle was released in 1984.
In the Kingdom, there are two human factions facing each other. One side has an attacker role, featuring more vehicles and siege engines (The Green Kingdom/Dragon Knights). The other side has a defensive role with an emphasis on building (The Red Kingdom/Lion Knights). This theme, such as the 2007 fantasy-era Castle theme, includes farmers and civilians, rather than concentrating only on military factions.
Kingdoms is the first theme to include back-printing on torque minifigures. This theme features new knight helmets, new horse armor (sleek razor helmet "unicorn"), goats, and new portcullis pieces. Two unique horse prints are found only in the Royal set: a pair of white horses with printed ornaments (7188 King's Carriage Ambush), and a gray gray horse cart (7189 Mill Village Raid.) This theme also marks his return to the rampant lion motif of the body, rather than the headed lion's head used in Royal Knight, Knight's Kingdom I, and Knight's Kingdom II.
The last set of themed Kingdoms is 10223 Kingdoms Joust, released on December 26, 2011; and 853373 Kingdoms Chess Set, released in 2012. The Royal theme was discontinued in 2012, replaced by the Lord of the Rings franchise device.
Castle (2013)
Lego released the new Castle theme in the fall of 2013 replacing the previously canceled Royal theme. It ended up being a very short theme with only five sets released in late 2013 and two battlepacks released in early 2014. The two factions were "King's Knights", who wore blue badges with a crown emblem on their torso and lion lion. shield and armor; and the "Dragon Knight", red and black. This theme is a fantasy-based theme with great wizards and dragons.
